Advice On Marketing Content

By Carlyle Randel

Nowadays, the basic act of making content is no longer enough. Content must be current, interactive and interesting for people to really take a look at it. Some great ideas on interactive content would be things like holding a contest for the customer to name a product or come up with a slogan, or surveys and polls work well. Interactive content creates value in the interaction itself, actively earning the disclosure of lead information instead of passively requesting it. An online visitor will be looking to be engaged in order to keep their attention.

Interactivity on websites has always been effective, but with social media being so widely used now, it's become crucial. Nowadays, having an entertaining and compelling experience is imperative for a website. Important information will be left by your potential customers on your site, blog, through emails, or of course on Twitter or Facebook, and this data is really valuable.

When you want to create a good relationship with a customer, interacting with them in a conversation is a good way to do it. They naturally establish connections built on trust and respect as both parties share and relate interests, goals, perspectives and other relevant information. After the results of surveys or polls are examines, the company can solicit further information from the client or customers, and then can deliver a better product or service.

Collaborative content has proven to be extremely effective in driving leads. Sales can work with Engineering to make a blog, or Project Management can work with Quality Assurance to make a great video; these are examples of what can happen when departments work together efficiently. Each person has something to contribute, and when they do, the effect is that the content is of a higher quality. When these departments share their knowledge and experience, everyone at the company gains a deeper understanding of the business. The staff will find more information from other professionals to research the content, and they will also get a lot of new ideas from collaborating with each other. When people actually talk and more importantly, listen to each other, they will learn so much more, and the projects born of the collaborations will be quite unique.

If the different departments don't get involved with the content marketing plans in a company, there is a big chance the campaign will fail. Making this plan a reality is not an easy task. There can be problems that arise when trying to orchestrate all of the different departments during content marketing content creation.

When looking to generate leads from content marketing, it's a good idea to have an idea of who your customer is, so try to make a list of buyer personas that you are catering to. Buyer personas that are carefully constructed will result in higher customer retention and better lead generation. Creating content and offers that your customers are interested in is key, so you need to understand who they are.

Marketing has aspects that are related to buyer personas in many ways, including prioritizing marketing investments, messaging plus targeting, sales enablement, and segmentation. When a company has effective buyer personas, the content marketing can be carefully tailored to suit them, and will be much more effective.
